Soon Sarman gets embroiled in the city's merchant market and becomes the voice of the poor against Maham and Moonja, the evidently autocratic rulers. However, Chaani's hand in marriage has already been given to Moonja (Singh), heir of the crown which is currently held by the dark-eyed, evil Maham (Bedi). Chaani reciprocates and Sarman pledges his alliance of love. He is an outspoken and courageous fellow who enters the city, sells his first batch, and immediately falls in love with Chaani (Hegde), a princess of some kind who is widely known in the city to be a ray of hope for the citizens. Sarman (Roshan) is an inquisitive farmer-cum-merchant who travels to the city of Mohenjo Daro to sell his yields against the wishes of his well-wishers. Be that as it may, I really liked this particular movie and I have rated it accordingly. Even so, I liked the fact that it managed to capture the unique flavor of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization which I consider to be an added bonus rather than a flaw. That said, I fully realize that this movie wasn't historically accurate in every detail. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was an enchanting film which combined drama, action, romance and music in a most entertaining manner. Needless to say, the love for the chief priest's daughter and the enmity of the Senate Chief not only creates all kinds of difficulties for him but also threatens everything he holds dear. Unfortunately, he also makes an enemy of the evil Senate Chief of Mohenjo Daro who goes by the name of "Maham" (Kabir Bedi). When he gets to Mohenjo Daro he meets and falls in love with a beautiful young woman named "Chaani" (Pooja Hegde) who just happens to be the daughter of the chief priest. Two days later he volunteers to accompany a couple of people from Amri as part of a trade delegation which seeks to exchange some of the village's main crop of indigo for various goods. That night he has a dream of a unicorn standing near the sacred river Sindhu and feels strangely affected by it. After succeeding in killing it he then returns as a hero to his village. with a young man named "Sarman" (Hrithik Roshan) venturing in a canoe with a few of his comrades on a mission to kill a large crocodile that has terrorized the small village of Amri where he lives.
